Two's A Couple, Three's The Law

Two's A Couple, Three's The Law - Eve Langlais Eve has delivered us fantastic hot ménages stories for years now, but Two's A Couple, Three's The Law tops them all for me.

Two's A Couple, Three's The Law delivers just the right amount of romance and paranormal without going overboard on either one. It will satisfy the light paranormal readers all the way to the hard core paranormal readers like me, so there is something for everyone that loves romance. This is story is a hot erotic romance so expect lots of hot sex between a threesome. The only thing you won’t find is anal sex so this story is great for readers who don’t like reading anal sex.

Written in first person POV, Chloe’s really surprised me I thought she was going to stay strong throughout everything but she finally lost it and this really made the whole story seem more real to me. I love to be able to feel the emotions the characters are going through.

Pete and Anthony are not friends and as you read you’ll find they are complete opposite of each, which made the story even more interesting. These two hotties will do anything to keep Chloe safe and theirs.
Chloe friend Brenda really takes life in this story and I’ am really hopping she will bug Eve to death for her own story.

I recommend this M/F/M story to readers whole loves erotic romance or erotic paranormal romance.

Taken

Taken - Julia Sykes This is not erotica it's an erotic romance. Review to come

Wizard's Chance

Wizard's Chance - Eve Langlais No way is this book Erotica. This story is a perfect example of a great Paranormal Romance.

Bound by Night

Bound by Night - Larissa Ione Bound by Night is spot on a true paranormal romance story. Larissa has created a paranormal romance that has all the elements that makes a story great. She developed a paranormal world, threw in some awesome main and side characters and she kept the romance tops. The story itself wasn’t confusing and you don't get bogged down with too many characters or large world building. I always love it when an author can find the right balance in a PNR story.

Some readers will find Nicole annoying, but I loved her. I loved the emotions her character went through during the story. She had some tough times to deal with, could she have handled them better? Well, of course she could have, we all can say that about our own life, but we say that after the facts. You have put yourself in her shoes, life is not always a walk in a park and we don’t always act the way we think we would when we are faced with the thing that scares us the most. Nicole’s greatest fear was to be turned into the thing she was told was the lowest life on earth and when she had to face that fear head on you better believe she was still scared, but I believe her character handled it well.

Riker had his own issues that he needs to work out and yes, he could have handled them differently, but not everyone including characters, handle things the way we think they should. I loved the emotions his character had to deal with during the story.

I loved the different twist Ione wrote for the vampires. It’s not every day we read about a vampire race being slaves to humans. I really enjoyed the Native American influence that is added to the story; I believe we’ll get into that more when we get into Hunter's story.

Riker and Nicole have a HEA, but the story does leave you feeling somewhat on a cliffhanger for Hunter's story. Squeal, I can’t wait for his story.

Lady X

Lady X - Claudy Conn
I Love Claudy’s paranormal romances, they are always fresh and exciting to read. Lady X is a time travel paranormal romance that is very realistic. What I loved most was the way she ended the story. You come to a point where you’re thinking, there is no freaking way she is going to be able to pull this all together and clean up all of these loose ends, but she does and it suits the whole book.

Exerilla (X) and Lord Hunter MacTorry, romance doesn’t start with sparks right off the bat but once they start flying its nonstop, until one of them Exerilla is left making a hard choice, that will leave one left behind in time desperately trying to find the other.

I loved both X and Lord Hunters characters, they are both strong and are willing to do anything for the ones they love.

I recommend this book for readers who love any of these paranormal, time travel and historical romances.

First Bite

First Bite - Dani Harper Dani has an awesome start to a new romance series and I believe this is her best book yet. I loved all of the characters, heck even the villain is awesome at being a true villain. This is a true example of keeping the right balance of romance, story and sex. Dani didn’t go overboard on either one.

Neva is having nothing to do with being a werewolf so she sets out to do something about it by killing herself. Neva has a very good reason to do this and to be whining about the whole ordeal, heck even I would have been crying the blues if I was her shoes. It's not everyday someone close to you want's you dead or controlling you and when I mean controlling I mean you would have to kill others under their command. Look at it this way, someone has just change your life forever and changed it into something that is a killing machine, wouldn't you cry about it for a bit before you suddenly take control because you see it's the only hope you have? I know I would, but I guess not everyone is like me. They think life is grand and they embrace everything bad that comes there way, with no whining. Whatever. As a paranormal romance reviewer I myself love the emotional roller-coaster the author took us on with Nava. I loved reading her denial and her embarrassing her fate, so she could go save her hero.

Neva takes her time to warm up to the Changeling ways but she has some excellent help with hot Travis by her side, that is when she’s not ditching him.LOL. Once she finds out what she really wants in life she'll stop at nothing to get Travis back, even if it means coming face to face with the danger she so much wanted to kill herself to keep away form. Travis isn’t a week hero he will risk his life to keep Neva safe from the evil that is after her, but he also knows when to back off and let someone else take lead. Together they both find love and danger in every corner.

There are a few secondary characters introduced and I hope to read about them in the future. If you love paranormal romance this is one book not to be missed.

Mandy's Story

Mandy's Story - D'Elen McClain Sorry, about this I know I am repeating myself but I've read two of these type books back to back so I feel the need make sure readers know these type of book do exist. I’m so tired of people saying heroines in romance are weak and they have to have the hero’s always saving the day. Well, let me tell you something, this book is here to prove you wrong, heroine's can be the strong lead too in romance books.

Mandy’s story is hilarious, but let me tell you up front she isn’t a weak heroine, nope no way no how, she’s not taking any crap off of any man or bear. She will stop at nothing to show them women can do more than men, even if she has to resort to using devices like tranquilizing guns, ropes & chains. Bears are set in there ways and can be hard to deal with but she proves that she can hold her own and she even gets to save a life in the process.

Mandy and Honey goes several round of fun bickering with each other before he finally caves in and clams her as his mate. But never worry, Mandy still has to show him whose boss a time or two, you know just to keep him in check. LOL.

My only reasons for not rating this a 5 was in once place Honey calls Mandy a" bitch" and for some reason the way it’s written, I just didn’t care for it and my other reason is the name Honey for a man bear… I need to say no more.

If you love humor, action and romance than this fun book cannot be missed because D'Elen pulls out all of the stops and sucks you right in.

Storm Warrior

Storm Warrior - Dani Harper 3 1/2

Storm Warrior is a book for those that like more story then romance. I really loved the Celtic world and the characters, but as a romance reader I want the romance in the story to the main part in the world building or storyline. At first you read about Morgan having dreams about a man and then she meets him, but what happens after that it falls flat. It’s not that I just want sex in a book, I’ve read lots of romance books with no sex but I felt those characters romance grow as the story progressed, but not Morgan and Rhys, they didn't even stay together long enough for their romance to develop.

I really could relate to Morgan and I loved how strong she was, but I felt she didn’t want to give Rhys a chance and that she just wasted too much time being apart from him just because she couldn’t see his side of things. Rhys really doesn’t know how to handle things between him and Morgan, but I understand where he is coming from since he has been in Grim form for so many years.

Again a great story, but you just won’t find romance being a top priority. The world is really great and easy to understand so I can see a lot of readers liking this story.

Vampire Thirst

Vampire Thirst - Ella J. Phoenix I really enjoyed book one in this series Dragon Heat, but book two Vampire Thirst, was a different story. The author entwined several stories in this book and I found this too confusing for me to handle. The book started out just like a regular romance between a couple, Hikuro and Sam. Their story and romance was really taking off when all of a sudden the chapters changed to chapter one of another couple in the series and you start reading their story and their romance takes over at this point. This goes on for 79 percent of the book, then all of a sudden the chapters change back again and takes you back to chapter one to Hikuro and Sam. I felt like I was missing way too much info by the author by splitting them up in such a way. As a romance reader I have never encountered a romance book written this way and to tell you the truth I hope never will again. It’s just way too confusing to some readers. The sad part was I really liked Sam and I really wanted to know what happened to her in the past, but with the confusion I just couldn’t enjoy the mystery that surrounded her and her dreams.

Amy's Story

Amy's Story - D'Elen McClain I really don’t know where to start first so I am just going to cut to the chase here, the plot is different and good but the author really needs a better beta reader and editor because this book is really full of mistakes. If you don’t know what headhopping is your fixing to learn. Headhopping is where a writer will start out a chapter with one person’s POV and then without notice before the chapter ends the POV will change to a different character and just about every chapter in this book has this. I really felt lost quite a few times because of the headhopping. I’m not a big complainer about grammar mistakes because my grammar itself is bad, so you know if I find mistakes it's not good.

The plot is very different and I did enjoy how the paranormal characters were more hard core. They do kill humans or others paranormal creatures to keep each other safe, so these vampires and shifters don’t have that stupid sparkle. I liked the heroine at first she seemed really real but before you know it she suddenly stated to just take to all the changes way to fast without question.

I felt like Amy and Marcus romance was a tad rushed therefore, I didn’t find that spark that I love to read between the main characters. The sex scenes are good but I just didn’t feel the heat between them.
I do have to give this author praise she kept the romance first and far most, even above the world build, I find some authors have a really hard time doing this.

Ultimate Sacrifice

Ultimate Sacrifice - Pauline Holyoak Merryweather Lodge is a trilogy that borders a lot of different genres, from thriller to romance. From the first book we have followed Emily down a scary road of battling her evil ancestor the Druid priestess Merhia, we thought it was over with in the second book but nope, Merhia is still demanding on getting her revenge.

Ultimate Sacrifice is another edge of your seat read. My only downside was the use of the child Abby, I just can’t hack a child being used by any evil spirit. Other than that the story was great, it held my attention in many ways. I loved the characters and I loved that I got to follow Emily from teen to adult. I also have to give kudos to the author because Emily is very young when this series started out so the author had to write this character as she grew. I think she did an awesome job because you can really tell the changes in her character in each book.

This time around Emily finds out a lot more about the past of her Auntie when Skye offers to put Auntie Em under hypnosis. I’ll just say this hypnosis gives a lot of insight and it really ties everything together. As things unravel from the past things are starting to heat up as Marhia, is yet again preparing to stake claim to Jonathan.
I recommend this series to anyone who loves a good edge of your seat thriller with the addition of paranormal.

A good ending for a great trilogy.

Nobody's Angel (Rescue Me #2, BDSM Erotic Romance)

Nobody's Angel (Rescue Me #2, BDSM Erotic Romance) - Kallypso Masters I was really pleased with this erotic BDSM romance. Great plot and an great HEA. This is romance therefore erotic BDSM romance, not erotica.

Mistress of the Stone

Mistress of the Stone - Maria Zannini Mistress of the Stone is a paranormal romance reader’s haven. The author delivers the right about of romance and world building, and the way she describes the story you’ll feel like you're right there. You get not only a love story, but you also get a curse, shifters, ghost, gargoyles, witch and to top it all off, one sexy pirate and one hot pirate hunter. This book had me hooked from start to finish.

I don’t want to give out too much detail because this book is too good to spoil. I loved all the characters even the villain. I even felt sorry for him at times, but then at other times I really disliked him for what he was doing. I really enjoyed both Luisa and Xander, but there were times that I really wished Xander would have stepped up to the plate more and showed how much he really cared about Luisa, but do you ever get everything you want in a story. You can tell Luisa and Xander were destined to be together right from the start and that makes you really see the sparks fly each time they are together.

I recommend this to any paranormal romance reader that loves a good, hot romance and lots of action.

Summer Heat

Summer Heat - Jaci Burton 3 1/2
Sweet erotic romance. There is a good plot with a HEA, lots of sweet sex between the hero and heroine, therefore this is good erotic romance, not erotica.

The Wolf Ring (Wolf Ring, #1)

The Wolf Ring (Wolf Ring, #1) - Meg Harris The Wolf Ring is a regular paranormal romance, not erotica. I really liked the idea of the story but the author didn’t execute it right. I really would have like to read about how the ring came about in something like an excerpt or at the beginning of the story. The hero gives this ring to the heroine but neither he nor she really knows anything about it. Then all the sudden before the end the heroine somehow coughs up what the ring is and what it does? I found this really unbelievable because someone would not know about something like this unless it’s introduced to them and the writer never gave in sight on how the heroine found out.

The characters has a good spark between them so it made the sex scenes that much hotter. All in all if you enjoy PNR and you can get this for free it’s worth the read. I just really wished the beta reader would have pushed the author to go deeper into the story. I hope one day this author would go back and re-write this book because this story is something you don’t find in the PNR world.
