Bound by Night

Bound by Night - Larissa Ione Bound by Night is spot on a true paranormal romance story. Larissa has created a paranormal romance that has all the elements that makes a story great. She developed a paranormal world, threw in some awesome main and side characters and she kept the romance tops. The story itself wasn’t confusing and you don't get bogged down with too many characters or large world building. I always love it when an author can find the right balance in a PNR story.

Some readers will find Nicole annoying, but I loved her. I loved the emotions her character went through during the story. She had some tough times to deal with, could she have handled them better? Well, of course she could have, we all can say that about our own life, but we say that after the facts. You have put yourself in her shoes, life is not always a walk in a park and we don’t always act the way we think we would when we are faced with the thing that scares us the most. Nicole’s greatest fear was to be turned into the thing she was told was the lowest life on earth and when she had to face that fear head on you better believe she was still scared, but I believe her character handled it well.

Riker had his own issues that he needs to work out and yes, he could have handled them differently, but not everyone including characters, handle things the way we think they should. I loved the emotions his character had to deal with during the story.

I loved the different twist Ione wrote for the vampires. It’s not every day we read about a vampire race being slaves to humans. I really enjoyed the Native American influence that is added to the story; I believe we’ll get into that more when we get into Hunter's story.

Riker and Nicole have a HEA, but the story does leave you feeling somewhat on a cliffhanger for Hunter's story. Squeal, I can’t wait for his story.
