Bitten by Romance

Desires of a Dark Lord

Desires of a Dark Lord - Jae Lynne Davies Desires of a Dark Lord is a fantastic PNR erotic romance. I loved it so much I emailed the author to make sure there was going to be a sequel LOL. You get a fantastic romance with some tension, great characters with attitude and a HEA.

I have never ran across and male demon incubus, so this made for a very interesting twist for me. Ronan will do anything to get out of Hell. He has attitude and he is smart, so his character keeps things fresh.
Ginevra has a good heart and put others before herself. When Ronan comes to her, he tells her the whole truth so she denies him to the bitter end. This made for a very good story because the whole time you can see both falling in love with each other.

I have read other books by Jae and I really enjoy her writing style, she keeps the romance and the world build in balance and she always adds some hot sex to her stories, so don’t miss out on this story. If you love hot demons and hot romance story, please add this book to your TBR pile.

Wickedest Witch

Wickedest Witch - Eve Langlais What do you get when you mix a sexy hot headed shape-shifter cat and a truly wicked witch? A dangerously steamy romance! I found this book full of humor and exciting to read. Eve published this a few years ago as a short story I loved it then and I love it even more now that a few more thousands words has been added. Eve took this book from 57 pg. to 207 pgs., so if you found the first book way too short for your liking, then please by all means try the new version.

Evangaline, is so wicked she turned her last lover into a rat. But she can’t help being so wicked. You see she is a decedent from Rasputin, so you know she has to live up to the wicked standard Mwahahahaahhaha.

Ryker is huge hot shape shifter. He has one problem most when who see him find him so domineering they faint just at the sight of him .When Ryker and his cat meet this wicked witch he just can’t resist this fireball especially when he sees all the curves she has without her glamour. When these two stubborn hot heads gets an assignment together there is nothing to stop the intense sexual tension that is between them. Just remember these two are stubborn so you get an excellent laugh your butt off chase between these two.

I recommend this to anyone who loves a good humors adventure.

Escaping Love

Escaping Love - Debra Smith 3 1/2
Sweet erotic romance with a good plot and a great HEA. There is some anal sex so this is considered erotic romance, not erotica.

Kitty Wishes

Kitty Wishes - Dahlia DeWinters 3 1/2

The Lawman

The Lawman - Lily Graison I’ve never really been into reading western romances for a few reasons. One reason is mainly because the heroine always seems to be on the prude side when it comes to sex. I have always believed sex back then was different than what are parents, grandparents and even history books has led us to believe. Heck if it was up to them none of us would be having it now, but this is totally my opinion. Anyhow, I read a few westerns and just wasn’t impressed. Then just a few days ago I noticed The Lawman was free on Amazon, well… I just had to give it a whirl and I’m so glad I did, it was so fun to read.

I instantly loved all the characters, especially Abigail, she is strong and isn’t afraid of anything, including sex;). Sparks starts flying as soon as these two meet and they don’t let up though the whole book.

I really enjoyed the story; I just wish it would have been just a few chapters longer. I would suggest this novella to anyone that looks for a fun romance instead of a history book.

Lucien's Hell Bound Angel

Lucien's Hell Bound Angel - Cyndi Harris DNF

Eternal Nights - Sekhmet's Guardians - Book Two

Eternal Nights - Sekhmet's Guardians - Book Two - V.S. Nelson Eternal Nights is a great read for those who love books like the BDB. The author creates a wonderful world with multiple POVs and multiple love stories in one book. All the characters grow with each passing book. Meaning you’ll still be reading about couples from previous books and seeing their love story continuing to grow in each passing book.

The author creates a different world for her characters and it’s easy to understand, just be prepared to take things slow so you won’t get confused between the different characters changes. I do suggest to the author to create a list of characters on her website so it would be easy for readers to look up the various characters and keep up as they read.

As for Jessica and Raphael, what I read about them was okay, I just wanted to get to know them more instead of the others, but that’s just me. I did get to read a lot about Ronan (which is Jennifer’s father) and his new mate Jasmine; they really stole the whole book for me.

I recommend this book to a reader who love multiple POVs. If you’re one that loves reading about one couple and seeing them grow in that one book then I suggest you pass on this one, unless you’re up for a challenge. If you decide you are up to the challenge, you shouldn’t be disappointed because the world this author creates is really different and interesting and the characters are very lovable.

I received this copy from the author for an honest review.

Kalindra

Kalindra - Sondrae Bennett Kalindra is refreshing and different. It’s not your basic cookie cutter PNR. This was a fun novella with a sweet romance between a harpy and a human. I loved the characters and the world building was really different. You get romance, action and fun characters.

I felt a connection between Kalindra and Cameron right off the bat and the romance grew at a good rate as the story developed. Both characters were witty, smart and they each knew when to comfort the other in their time of need.

The only reason I didn’t give this a five, I would have loved to have known the characters more in-depth and I wished the world building was further developed. I also wanted to know more about the Outremer world and its gate. I can see this being a series and I hope this might be Sondrea plans in the future.

Dragon Moon

Dragon Moon - Nulli Para Ora 3 1/2

Dragon Moon is going to be hard for me to review. I loved most of this book, but I did have some problems with it. I have to admit Nulli wrote an amazing roller coaster story that will get your emotions all up into turmoil. I felt the author did a good job keeping the romance and paranormal the main focus.

Dragon Moon is an interracial story with a love triangle, as most of you know I hate love triangles. I love my HEA’S. Anyhow, I did feel the author carried out the love triangle very tastefully at least it was very emotional and different then from other books I’ve read. The biggest reason I hate love triangles is because someone is always left out and let me tell you I loved both Gao and David so I feel bad that someone was left out:(. I just hope the author has plans for the one that was left out in the cold this time around.

There are several POV's and the plot has so much information, that I felt like I totally missed getting to really know Gao and Angelique on a personal level. So although I did enjoy the book, I feel readers need to know this is not going to be a walk in the park read, they will need to really stay focused or they might lose their way.

I was satisfied with the HFN ending, but again I hope the author will complete it and give each character their HEA in the future of this series.

I recommend this to readers who love triangles and romance. I wouldn’t say this is an Urban Fantasy story because the author has too much romance entwined into the story.

Manataka

Manataka - Ella J. Phoenix The author of Manataka takes you back through Native American history and adds a really neat paranormal lore to the tribe. I received the re-edited version and noticed a couple of issues, but they are not bad enough to pick on. What I look for when reviewing is the story flow, world building etc. I did enjoy reading the characters and the Native American folklore. The biggest problems I had with this book is there is no romance built or spark between Chloe or Mason and I really wished the author would have explained why the tribe had these different paranormal powers. I basically felt like the Native American history took over and the paranormal elements were placed on the back burner. I wanted something different than just history. I wanted the magical touch of the powers that this tribe had, why they had the powers and how they used the powers to their benefit.

As for the romance well, you can create two characters, but there needs to be a spark between them at the beginning so the romance can build as the story develops. You don’t have to have sex in the story for it to be considered a romance, but you do have to have the characters connected in some way so you know they are meant to be together. I know the author wrote Chloe as Adsila reincarnated and I felt that spark between Adsila and Mason at the beginning of the story, but I never felt that spark carried over to Chloe and Mason. I needed it because despite the fact Chloe is Adsila reincarnated, Chloe is still her own person.

If you see any reviews saying this is erotica please don’t listen. This is a tastefully written romance book with one sex scene.

The plot is really neat and I really did like the reincarnation between Chole and Adsila. I also felt the author did excellent work on the history of the Native Americas. So, if you’re a lover of Native American history and you like to read about reincarnations then you should give this story a try.

The Union Street Bakery

The Union Street Bakery - Mary Ellen Taylor Union Street Bakery is a delicious treat to read. I was hooked after the first chapter. The characters are fun, and the mystery and paranormal elements are very believable. This story has a lot going on, but the author is brilliant in her ability to keep it up beat and easy to understand. I love the way the mystery is opened up little by little. The setting is fantastic and the author adds touches to the story to make you feel like you are right there in the mist of the bakery watching the sisters.

This story is written in mostly Daisy’s POV. Daisy is a strong character, but when her mom left her at the age of three she find she sometimes feels no one wants her, so she has to work hard with that issue. Rachel and Margret are her sisters, you hear about them a lot in the story because they are with her just about every day. They are fun and they love Daisy as a sister and will do anything for her.
This book has a touch of paranormal elements because of the ghost and a touch of romance due to the interaction between Daisy and Gordon, but you don’t read about any sex between them. You also get an excellent mystery. So I would defiantly classify this more of a paranormal mystery. There is no HEA so you have to wait to see what happens between Daisy, the ghost Shaun and Gordon in the next book. I believe it is set to be released this coming fall, so you won’t have long to wait.

I would recommend this to anyone who loves paranormal and mystery. I will give you a fair warning this book will make you want to run to the nearest bakery. LOL. There are also some recipes at the end of the book so that should help.

Dragon Heat

Dragon Heat - Ella J. Phoenix Ella, delivers a dragon and vampire love story like no other out there today. Zoricah is not only a dragon, but she is also a demigoddess, so you get the addition of mythology added with the story. The author added a lot of imagination in the world building and she brings you a lot of great characters that you’ll want to keep reading years to come.
Tardieh is a hot vampire and Zoircah is really neat with her dragon shifting and her demigoddess abilities. So be prepared for a really strong heroine.

If you like your PRN’s on the darker side you’ll love this one, the villain is very evil. He does torcher his victims in cruel ways, so be warned.

My only downside was with this being a novella I lost the connection between Tardieh and Zoricah, the spark was there during the Prelude but when Zoricah came back to Tardieh for help I didn’t feel that spark again. I think it was because there is so much world build, action and different characters that it just overshadowed the spark between them. The sex is hot but I look for a good spark and connection between the main characters. You can’t expect everything in a novella and with the story being so different and good I can’t really low ball this book because of a spark between characters. I feel the next book will be totally different and as you can read in this story there is some very heated sparks flying between the next couple already, so I’m definitely looking forward to their book. This also reminds me the H/h gets a HEA but there is a cliffhanger at the end that will leave you wanting the next book A.S.A.P.

I recommend this to any PNR fans that likes their books on the darker side and with plenty of action and a great world build.

Mated to the Devil

Mated to the Devil - Eve Langlais Mated to the Devil is a “sitting-on-the-edge-of-your-seat” emotional roller-coaster read. I loved every minute of it, even the crying parts. Eve has totally out done herself on this one. This is not your typical Eve Langlais story or any PNR romance for that matter. This book takes on a lot of controversial subjects that some readers would rather not read. You have an interracial couple, a mating part that some would consider runs more along the lines of rape, then there’s the religion part with Mina's parents. It’s a shame some religious sectors can be the way they are and Eve describes Mina's parents' religion very well. I’m just glad Mina never got to meet her parents again. Anyhow, Eve takes you through the ups and downs as this couple first comes together and then falls apart, only to come together again. She describes all the happy and sad details very well as she makes your mind go to goo when she introduces Jacques to the story.

Mina ends up a strong heroine that will do anything to keep her loved ones safe, but Mina is in real need of love herself. She needs to feel needed and wanted on so many levels and she has no real clue how to get it. She fumbles a lot, but she never gives up and in the end she wins it all and more.

Remy learns from his mistakes very quickly and once he has Mina back he will do anything to keep her as his mate.

If you love action, emotions and a steamy romance with a HEA, then you need to add this story to the top of your to be read list.

Wolf Nip

Wolf Nip - Vivian Arend

Wolf Nip is a sweet PNR. You won’t find any action or spine tingling suspense, nor will you find a lot of tension or complication between the H/h. What you will find is a really nice couple who do belong together despite Tessa writing off Mark as mate material right off the bat and let’s not forget about grandpa, he is so adorable and adds so much to the story.
With the blurb giving out so much I won’t go into anything else. As I read this book I found it an adorable, sexy and fun read.

Do you have to read in series order? NO, they are standalone.

Bite Me, Your Grace

Bite Me, Your Grace - Brooklyn Ann This is a good book it just didn’t draw me in like I wanted it to. At first I was very confused for few chapters. It just seemed to take forever for me to figure out the direction the author was taking the story. I did find my baring’s around half way but sad to say buy then I was tired of hearing the whining heroine and how she didn’t want to marry. Heck it took her forever to finally accept Ian and get on with things. With Rosetta and the vampire back story being it just seemed the H/h was way over shadowed during the whole book, so I never felt the romance build between them like I wanted to.

There are some interesting characters and I think things will be different in the second books so I will continue the series.

Darkest Risings

Darkest Risings - S.K. Yule Darkest is one of my favorite vampire series. S.K. holds true to her romance and world building as she tells the whole Aleksandrov’s family story. Darkest Risings carries lots of action and emotions. It can be hard to cope when you find out someone very dear to you was the one betraying you the whole time. As the betrayal hits home to the brothers the Shadowdrifters also take advantage and come in and kill someone very dear to them. Oh yeah, once the story takes off it will have you hanging on to see what is going to happen next. With so much occurring in the story expect several different POV’s and some new surprises.

Aldin and Wilhemina are both strong and compelling in many ways. I really enjoyed reading the development of their romance and their stories. I love how I get to keep up with what's happening with all the brothers and I like the introduction to the next hero and heroine.

There is a M/M interaction between two male characters, but they are not main characters that are focused on in this series, so if you’re like me not into the M/M you can easily skip it and it will not hinder any part of the main storyline.

You get a HEA for Aldin and Wilhemina, but you also get a cliffhanger that will leave you wanting the next book A.S.A.P.
